Advanced Surface Mechanics

Your partner for surface mechanics

Our Business Segments

Software

Development of modern and user-friendly programs for the control of the measuring instruments and for the evaluation of the measurement data as well as for contact mechanical calculations and modelling.

InspectorX: Comprehensive evaluation options for indentation measurements, including the ability to read data from devices from other manufacturers

Elastica: Contact mechanical calculations fast and precise.

Development

We develop new methods, software and measurement technology for the mechanical characterization of surfaces for you. We are happy to take over the development of customer-specific devices, sample holders, measurement methods or database adjustments. For more information, please contact us.

Service

We perform the service for all generations of nanomechanical testers manufactured by ASMEC or ZwickRoell with the designations UNAT or ZHN.
We supply spare parts and indenters of any type
We advise you on mechanical measuring methods suitable for your application or on the measurement parameters.

Measurement Services

We use a variety of measurement methods to determine various mechanical parameters of surfaces using our own equipment inventory. This includes, for example, hardness, elasticity, layer adhesion, wear, friction coefficients, shear strength, dynamic behavior by means of fatigue tests or frequency scans, storage and loss modulus and dissipation factor of polymers and others.

Hardware

We manufacture various types of nanomechanical testers or nanoindenters, including custom-made products.

About Us

The ASMEC Advanced Surface Mechanics GmbH was established in 2003 by Dr. Thomas Chudoba, who is a recognized expert in the field of surface mechanics and nanoindentation. The goal for founding the company was the development of advanced instruments, methods and software for the mechanical characterization and optimization of surfaces and coatings. This is still our objective today.

Elastica Now in a new look

Elastica makes the complicated theory of contact mechanics available in a simple, user-friendly and very fast form
